I am sure there are a lot of good tips out there. For me, they became easier when I realized that I needed to have a solid post, wrapping thread up the base to stabilize it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MV0-BXJxoeAMarkWhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09682973572192708501noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7050365015235775568.post-47931216696601199142019-12-11T19:24:57.195-05:002019-12-11T19:24:57.195-05:00Sam

I find this makes it easier to both wind the hackle(s) and tie them off and then whip finish to the wing post beneath the wound hackle fibers. I think it was a Charlie Craven video where I saw that trick.

Regards, SamSamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08858232423819687001noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7050365015235775568.post-44999254384078513072019-12-11T17:56:36.486-05:002019-12-11T17:56:36.486-05:00Armando Milosevic

Certainly easier if I tie it in and then weld it with UV material... but even easier with a synthetic post. Easy is deceiving though, they are not easy to tie and mine always look rough. They work though, so that's ok :)

Be well
WillHibernationhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06209232417170426487noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7050365015235775568.post-14869892478793494532019-12-11T09:41:19.973-05:002019-12-11T09:41:19.973-05:00Hi Alan,

It shows how to use UV resin to anchor the hackle around the post. Works like a charm and the flies seem to hold up to multiple fish:

https://news.orvis.com/fly-fishing/video-hackle-parachute-post-uv-cure-resin

Best wishes,
JohnJohn Struckerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03799054064448058771noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7050365015235775568.post-23338926737280681982019-12-11T09:00:39.440-05:002019-12-11T09:00:39.440-05:00They look good to me.
