Hey Justin, maybe we're related. I'm Hungarian! Sorry Alan, I had to do it. I've mentioned before how much I enjoy your posts because no words are necessary. That's not a slam on your narratives because your love of the outdoor, fishing and food are just that obvious.
One more thing. You're the only blog friend that I don't have a clear picture in mind of what you look like. :)
Len Thanks Len that scallop mac and cheese is a favorite of mine. Most places offer lobster, but I think fresh scallops top lobster in flavor. Scallop risotto is also a killer.
mike rogers Thanks Mike I was fishing a small stream last year when that thing came by. It hovered over me for a few moments then left. I often wonder if hawks, or perhaps an eagle will attack them.
Photos of a great life style. You are a lucky man, Alan.
That second picture of the beautiful water falls, have you ever caught brook trout up stream of there? Reason I ask is I wonder if brookies were ever to somehow navigate that to populate the upper sections of the stream. Seems like a tough assignment.
Parachute Adams Thanks Sam I truly am, and I'm very thankful. I have caught brookies upstream of those falls, but I don't think they can migrate up there from below. Many streams in Shenandoah Nat. Park are like that. Some of the brookies live their lives in those pools and never go upstream.
Brook trout never cease to amaze me as to the waters they inhabit, including upstream of those waterfalls. A unique region they exist is the "driftless area" where Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa border. An amazing fish that finds a way.
I'm hungry.

Mel that it does, and sometimes better than we can.
Looks good enough to eat but did you cook it and fly your drone at the same time....lol

George I'll take credit for the cooking, but the drone was a surprise to me.
As an obsessed fisherman, I surprised myself when I realized my favorite photo of the group is the scallop mac and cheese. Looks delicious!

DeleteSam, I am amazed at their tenacity for life. I am thrilled, marveled and honored every time I bring one to hand. Incredible creatures.
DeleteHi Alan, Speaking of food, I bet your "Christmas tree" has been joyfully stripped, of its decorations by now.

John we visited that tree several times since Thanksgiving. We left nuts cranberries and pop corn.
Now they're on there own.
