As an undergraduate student back in the 1990's, I had a part time job in the aquatics department of a pet store to help fund my studies (or was it to help fund my beer ;-)). The owner of the store bought some in as an alternative coldwater fish, however despite the amazing colours they proved unpopular with the patrons and remained in a show tank for many years.
