A Christmas Gift

In this season of giving I and Small Stream Reflections would like to offer you this gift of 23 soft-hackle flies. You only need to comment to be in the drawing. When you comment your name will be put into a bag and the name will be drawn by Jeanette. The drawing will be on Dec. 15th.

    Just a quick anecdote: I was at a conference this last August and happened to run into Yvon Choinard, founder of Patagonia. Of course we got talking about fishing for sea-run brook trout.

    He related that he'd been fishing a lot for SRBT in two hemispheres - he said how he'd been fishing all year with just one fly and it had been out-fishing everything everyone else was using. Presumably he was using Tenkara as well but we didn't talk about that.

    What fly was he using?

    A pheasant tail soft hackle.
