And The Sign Said.........

One of the things I find myself doing whenever I'm out, weather fishing or driving, I like to take photos of signs. Some of the signs tell of places, people, and achievements. Some of them are well thought out, and some.... well they're there.

I suppose if I had to pay for the film, and the development I might not do this, but digital photos, much cheaper. I guess most would say there are nicer subjects to photograph, and I agree, I still like to show the signs.

  3. Did you go the "world famous diner" after taking a picture of the Roscoe sign?

  4. I like signs as well , they tell an entire story without any explanation from the photographer. Roscoe sounds like a place I need to visit...Jeff

  5. And I thought I was the only one who took the time to do that! It's all becoming so clear now...

  6. Last summer we passed a diary farm with an ad sign in the middle that said something to the effect of "Got beef?". The cows in the foreground made for a very funny picture.

  7. I've got some nice sign photos too. I think it's a nice way to remember a place. I've also seen some good signs and later regretted not taking a picture.

From reading these comments, I think they're more of us.

Sounds good....hope you got a photo.

    Jay,
    Thanks.
It's true, a photo of a sign can bring back the memories of the area we were in without further looking.

  11. Drove Rt17 past Roscoe a dozen times in the mid-70s and now lament I was not a fly fisher back then... Maybe I'll get back there some day.

  12. An interesting collection of pictures of signs. I see a bunch, but didn't really think of taking pictures of them. I certainly will in the future.

    Thanks.

    Thanks.
I take an interest in odd things. I even photograph mushrooms, and I don't know a thing about them.

  17. I fished the Sandy River in Maine two years ago with a couple friends in late spring. We caught only a few fish, but each of us managed a brown over 18", the largest nearing 23". I went back later that summer to find the river a shell of its former self, barely managing a noticeable current. Such a strange contrast.
