A simple wet fly....plus..

Here is a tutorial of a simple and effective wet fly. The material list is olive thread, some olive hares mask dubbing and a partridge feather.

Start the thread just behind the eye of the hook. The thread will be the body of this fly. Wrap the thread to the back of the hook to where the barb is, and wrap back to the starting point.

Attach the dubbing to the thread, using about 3/4's of an inch.

Wrap dubbing until a nice buggy thorax is formed.

Now prepare the partridge feather by stripping away the fluffy feathers on the stem.

Then strip back the fibers exposing the tip as shown.

Tie in the feather by the tip just in front of the thorax.

Take hackle pliers and attach to the stem of the feather. Make 2 wraps of the feather and tie off. Whip finish.

The completed fly.

The frittata, AKA egg cake. This one has roasted red peppers, mushrooms, spinach, mozzarella cheese. They can be made with almost any ingredient from bacon and sausage to potatoes and broccoli. They can be eaten cold or hot.
