I don't write a lot of words in my posts. I like the reader to draw his or hers own conclusions that they can draw from the photos presented. Places that I walk through, places I fish and those I encounter along the way are what I love. I would like to quote a beautiful few words by Kathy Scott from her book "Brook Trout Forest"....The commonality between learning and adventure is the search; both lead to a richer, fuller life.....simple words that have inspired me.
Brook Trout Forest.
"Stop and smell the roses." Or, take time to enjoy the simple pleasures in life. Great pictures as always.

It's something this life needs more of, and if we all took the time we would be better off.
Beautiful pics, Alan. I love that fly; I wish I had the confidence in purple that you do.

Mike the color purple really takes on a different shade when wet. It's even darker when I wax the silk.
Reminds me of the forests in Wisconsin not far fro where we lived. Beautiful.

Mark it's like returning home. It seems that though memories are never lost and the sight of something will bring them front and center.
A picture is worth a thousand words.

Tom such an old saying, but is it ever true.
Alan,
ReplyDeleteIt is true that you say few words but, the ones you do say are powerful indeed! As the others have said, the photos you share with us are encylopedic in their content and convey to us strong emotions of the commonality we all share...fishing for wild brook trout and enjoying all of God's miracles of His creation! Thqnk you Alan for sharing with us your world in all its beauty and grace! Promise us that you will never stop what you are doing!

Doug as you know a person can look at a photo and take so much from it, can see in it what another can't...I think that's what a photo can bring. I enjoy sharing what I see and what I do and when I get those wonderful responses it makes it all worth while.
Beautiful pics as always and I also have had good luck with purple soft hackles, though usually with starling hackle. Thanks for the pictures!

Pat I tie that pattern with starling to. It takes fish.
Love it Alan - what photos. That clear plunge is amazing!

Will those plunge pools are some of my favorite places to drop a fly...most times I'll find a brookie in there.
