A long time reader and contributor of Small Stream Reflections who comments as "mike" emailed me some weeks ago saying he wanted to do a piece on the "Tiny Ten", which is a tenkara rod I had purchased. Mike is a writer for a very popular Outdoors Magazine here in the northeast United States. It seems that my blog post on the Tiny Ten caused him to purchase the rod and give it a go. The Tiny Ten is perfect for small close quarter fishing which Maine and most New England states have plenty of. The article is well written and has that special "Maine" touch to it.
I'm sure the September 2020 issue is readily available in New England, and maybe available online. If possible I encourage you to read it....honestly it's that good.
Question? Do you put a cover on your peanut butter crackers, or do you prefer it one side at a time?
Brk trt, I use to read and have a subscription to the "Northwoods sporting journal" as well as its sister publication the "Maine sportsman" news paper. Two great readables that I use to read religiously and actually I miss them because I haven't subscribed to in years. I had boxes of past issues of both because I wouldn't them out. Finally I discarded those boxes years later.

Phil I did not they were connected. As I was reading the Northwoods journal I noticed featured articles from MA. N.H., VT. and CT. so it takes in New England. KTP, I love that place.

ReplyDeleteI wish I had the streams to fish the 10 footer here---I'll go one up on you with the peanut butter thing---I like mine with 3 crackers and peanut butter on both sides of the the middle cracker. I guess everybody to his own--thanks for sharing

Bill your method of peanut butter crackers is new to me. But as one who loves peanut butter I must say that's the way to go.
Don't do PB on crackers. I'm strictly a PB&J on toast kind of guy.

A fine article and what a great magazine! I enjoyed reading the other articles as well as reading the ads for all sorts of stuff. The magazine does have its own charm and felt like those early Field and Stream magazines.Plenty of good honest information. I'd like to visit Maine.
No fishing for me until at least the end of October due to extended COVID19 restrictions. Small Stream Reflections will help to keep me sane!
I like my peanut butter spread on a toasted sesame bagel. Squashed Medjool dates on same toasted bagel is pretty good on the chew as well.

Delete"Skippy Natural"---is that an OZ made peanut butter? Kangaroos often get called "Skippies" as a result of a popular 1960's TV series where the star was a kangaroo called Skippy". Oh No--the theme tune has rebored it's way back into my brain!

ReplyDeleteOne of the regulars in the club on the little River Leven is an avid fan of Tenkara and although he is a big advocate of the method, I have never had a go (yet!).
Peanut Butter on crackers needs a 'Lid' - and a thick layer of Nutella hazelnut and chocolate spread!
