Anglers, Artists And True Lovers Of the Outdoors...part one

I recieve many emails from readers that tell me of their adventures. They express their thoughts and ideas. I enjoy this very much. In these emails I also get photos of most everything related to fly fishing. These include pictures of flies, rivers, streams, trout and food. These photos are saved and now I would love to share them with you. So this is the first post with other anglers.

The streamer is from Bill Shuck. It it is the Footer Special. A Maine pattern created by Dave Footer.

Small stream angler RM Lytle...Rowans love for wild brook trout is off the charts.

"Beaverdam"...another fellow who has a strong attachment for small streams and wild brookies.

"Hans", this young man hails from Montana. Here he is fishing an alpine lake for cutthroat trout.

Armando Milosevic...a talent in many areas of fly fishing.

  1. It's always nice to see one of Bill's flies on the page; the folks over on the flymph board will appreciate seeing it here. And I always like seeing how Armando incorporates color into his drawings as well. Great pictures, Alan.

Mike Bill was quite a guy. I only knew him through the internet but we seemed to be a lot closer. Armando's art is a pleasure.

  2. Indeed Alan, it is a very good thing to see our friend Bills creations here and on the Flymph Forum and anywhere for that matter! I have several of his creations on my "wall of fame" in my den! I cherish them as do many others who have been blessed by his kindness through the years!
I am also liking the pictures that others have sent in and that you have posted here on your blog! I hope you will make this a regular feature! It is but icing on the cake on an already superb site! Thank you for doing this!
Speaking of food, Wow, the bacon and the rye bread (a perineal favorite in our family as well) look wonderful! You are so blessed with your multi-cultural heritage and the many benefits it brings...like the delicious samplings you bring to the table!
We are thankful for the many blessings God gives us throughout the year and especially for this blog that you faithfully bring to us each week! Happy Thanksgiving to you and Jeanette and your entire family!

      Thanks
Doug you were fortunate to know Bill longer than I. In the short time I knew him he was so helpful and insightful. His emails to me clarified so many questions I had about fly tying.
Food diversity is oh so nice....turkey and lasagna.
We are so blessed. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

  5. Can't wait to see the rest of the parts. Picture of the fly added to my "Flies suitable for framing" list. I'm very jealous of RM being able to kneel down like that. I've never been able to do that because of a disability from my teen years.

Mark youth...that streamer fly was part of a presentation. I think I have a photo of the flies framed.
