Funky Feathers

A short time ago John at Feathers Mc posted some saddle hackle that he dyed, he called them Funky Feathers. They were dyed with multiple colors to each feather. They looked like they could produce a nice streamer.
Well I ordered a few hackles and sat down and tied this up. It looks like it might be a good attractor pattern, especially for brookies, and landlocked salmon.

The Funky Feather Streamer

These are a few flies I like to use in the fall. They can be fished dry or wet.
A simple pattern. Peacock herl and your choice of hackle.

I spent some time on a brook trout stream the other day, it felt good, and the trout cooperated too. I'll post that report soon.

  1. I like it. Those are petty cool. 1960's style freaky and I pretty sure the fish will 'dig' them too.

Glad to hear that you were able to get out and spend some time on the stream. Look forward to the report.

    Welcome back :-)

    Cheers!

  4. Nice flies. The materials you used are in high demand in the fashion market. Probably makes the fly really worth $20.

  10. Wow those feathers are definitely trout eye catchers. Glad to hear you were back out there teaching those streams a lesson or two :) I will have to give those bottom flies a try for sure. Thanks for sharing. Tight Lines.

  11. Can't keep a good man down although I'm sure the wild brookies were hoping that you had retired!

I thought I'd never feel right. The brookies won more of the battles.
