A Birthday, and Some Stuff

I celebrated a birthday this week, a milestone one at that. Jeanette had told me to go fishing it's your day but I opted out and chose another day. I was taken out for a fine meal, and enjoyed some homemade devils food cupcakes. Today my grand children are coming over and that's the best gift.

In my travels this week I came upon these guys. They were moving about near the road and actually stopped to pose. There are some fine hackles there.

I assembled some featherwing streamers for an article for a web site. I have to photograph each one, give the recipes and a bit about them. With the cold and snowy weekend on the way I should get it done.

I had this penciled in for this weekend..."Eggplant Parmigiana". I couldn't wait so I made it last night. Maybe lobster mac and cheese for the weekend.

  10. In all the time I've been following your blog, I never got the impression that you were old enough to have grandchildren. Congratulation on your "milestone" birthday and I hope you ate a bunch of cupcakes. I know I would have, chocolate is my favorite besides being the fifth food group. The EP Parmigian looks fabulous.

  11. Happy B-day! Your correct about one thing...time with kids or grandkids trumps fishing. The best thing would be to have your grandkids fishing with you. Your individual posts of your streamers are great but the picture with a collection of them is beautiful!

  12. Happy Birthday. Eating is an acceptable alternative to fishing (I guess). Particularly food that looks that good.

  17. Happy Birthday Brk Trt, I've been reading your blog now for about 18 months and it's really inspired me. I got tom rosenbours orvis ' flyfishing small streams' for Christmas, and last week I drove down to SE CT to fish a small stream, and I caught my first small stream wild brownie - of 8" in a small stream, a real beauty, after a couple of hours.

It was just a magical time in the woods, so thanks.

    Mark.
