Morning Streamer

Your probably wondering what this egg has to do with a fishing blog. You know me to. It's just that its early and the coffee has not taken hold. I guess the egg will come into play later.

Well back to fishing, well fly tying that is, fishing will come after. I tied this streamer up yesterday incorporating several good materials, fish attracting materials that is. It's tied on an old Mustad Sproat 38941 size 10. The body is peacock herl, with a squirrel wing, and yellow and red hackle fibers.

Another view. I'm hoping it will work, especially if there is somewhat higher waters.

Now back to the egg, well not yet. Bacon first. Is there any thing better than good smoked bacon frying in a pan. Its getting crispy as I type, and the smell is almost to much to continue.

Now the egg. I know this is not part of my reformed diet, but once in a while I fall off the wagon. Well I think I'll finish breakfast, and go fishing.

  3. Fly looks like a marriage of two of your favorites the Picket Pin and the Edison Tiger. No doubt some brook trout somewhere will be thinking it was his bacon and eggs !

Great looking streamer, tight body should work well in fast water. The egg I thought was one you found on the trial to the stream, until I remembered how you love to entice all of us with those great meals. Looking forward to a report on the streamer!!

  7. Nice streamer! A little Mickey Finn inspired perhaps? Anyway it will surely take some trout to hand. Hope you enjoyed the breakfast! Looking almost makes me hungry even thought I've eaten enough for today.
    Have fun tying streamers,

  10. I wouldn't mind falling off the dietary wagon if I was going to land at your table! The good thing about a breakfast like that is it gives you the perfect excuse to fish harder, hike farther, and stay out later. By the way is the tail red pig bristle?
