Brk Trt's.."Brook Trout"

A pattern I have created and tied to represent a brook trout. Using the two saddles above as the primary ingredient, I believe it gives a good likeness to the trout.

The brook trout like most trout are predators and will feed on their own when the opportunity is there.

  2. Hi Brk Trt!

Lovely streamer! Haven't found a brook trout inside a trout stomach but I guess they wouldn't mind taking whatever small fish they can get given the opportunity. I'm sure that your streamer will attract attention from trout.

    Have fun tying beautiful streamers,

    1. The Jassid Man,
      Thanks.
I guess they all do it. A small fish is better than three hours sipping caddis emergers.

  3. That fly will see its fair share of action! Without doubt as we get closer to fall competition and territoriality will have that fly all chewed up! Off to the vise with me!

  4. I've noticed that a lot of flies and lures for Brookies are in that same dark olive green color. This one should work well.

  5. Very pretty fly Alan. And I guess this answers the age old question, does Brk Trt catch brook trout?

  6. Very nice Alan. A very strong impressionistic quality. Hope the trout like it.

  7. I would say that your flies are a type of folk art. I could imagine them on exhibit in an art gallery.

      Thanks.
That's how I see most of my streamers, Folk Art, in the truest sense.

Well duplicated with this pattern. The colors are so vivid. How I wish we could get brooks and browns stocked in out local tailrace. Thanks for sharing
