"Psychedelic Smelt" and Schnitzel

Having first hand knowledge of the wonders of the sixties I sat down at the desk and put together some feathers of various colors and created a smelt pattern. While this streamer may look gaudy, outlandish, and to some, maybe even ridiculous.  I say hold on.

The shape is a very good likeness to that of a smelt, and with the vibrant colors it's a damn good attractor. But to be honest it's the result of the wrong coffee, and my abundance of free time.

The "Psychedelic Smelt"

One of lifes true pleasures. Schnitzel. This is made with pork, but other meats can be used. Veal, rabbit, and venison. It can be served with potato, rice, egg noodles, or whatever you like. If there's a chance you have leftovers, it makes a great sandwich.

The meal or the streamer; hard to decide, but I think I will go for the outstanding streamer. I am with you here as far as the attractor factor I think this one would get their attention quick!! Thanks for sharing

It sure has the colors to wake up one of those lake dwelling brook trout.

  11. Hi Alan!

Lovely streamer and truly kind of psychedelic! A work of art that should be framed while it's offspring do their job in the stream. Great fly! Thanks for sharing!

Kind greetings from a "psychedelic" fly tier in Sweden,
    Mats Olsson
