When?

I sat down last night and brought out a couple of maps and started looking for small streams that I might want to fish come the time we have better weather here in New England. While looking the song "Summertime" played by Kenny G was in the background and for a second I was along side a swift flowing, laurel thick, moss covered stream with so much green other colors were blocked from sight. I lifted up the cup to have a sip of coffee and reality time. Still February, still cold, so much snow on the ground and more coming. "Where's the light"?

I'm tired of this....snow, wet feet, soaked jeans, ice in the guides, and that awful gray sky.

Perhaps there's hope. I saw this the other day along a spring seep. WOW did I just say "Spring"

      Thanks.
Very true, I just wish someone would give it a shove and have it arrive earlier.

  2. One thing you can always depend on is time passing by. It takes these winters to make us appreciate spring and summer.

  3. My brain keeps telling me it's almost March , Spring is right around the corner. Unfortunately the weather man says it's going to snow 3 out of the next four days and the temps won't be above freezing for close to a week...bah-humbug!!

  7. The 50+ degree weather this past weekend felt like a cruel joke this morning when I saw the snow coming down. Blackbirds arrived this week...spring isn't far behind. We'll get there soon.

  8. It could be another month, unfortunately. If this was December I wouldn't complain, but enough's enough. I want to see the redwings and the woodcock again!

We will be rewarded for our winter abuse with a lovely Spring.
The reel is an Orvis Battenkill LA TROUT. They stopped making them....what a shame.

  11. Alan - Man, seeing that skunk cabage feels good... I keep trying to remind myself it's almost March, it's only going to get warmer... Spring is coming! But man... This year... it does not feel that way!

I thought it odd to see it by itself in the sea of ice and snow, but a wonderful sight.
Hopefully this will be the last week of this crazy cold.

  12. Alan, I want to commiserate with you on the fact that the blah's are overtaking us. Not really! Our time is coming. It is just interesting that folks all over most areas of the U.S. are saying they have had enough.

  13. I think spring is on its way quicker than we know. A few more weeks of this cold and snow and that ridge out west will soon break down and head east! Ma Nature sure likes to balance things out and below normal temps may just be followed by above normal ones.
