  3. New England is so beautiful this time of year, and your photos capture it very well. Great time of year to fish also, except for leaves on the water some times. Regards, Sam

Sam I love this month. I have fished the leaf hatch in that stream in the last photo. A Mass. stream.

    2. Haha! I have never heard the term "leaf hatch" before and that is a perfect description for some days this time of year. That is a beautiful looking pool in the last photo, that is for sure.

Theresa I don't know if I could deal with that.
      I hope it gets better.

  6. Most native trees here in Australia remain green all year round. The introduced deciduous trees give a splendid colour spectacle in the autumn or fall as you call it. Your photos brought back memories of traveling through the Smokey Mountains in 1992. Must visit again sometime.
    Thanks,
    Steve.

  7. Alan,
You'd better believe that we will always enjoy your (and Jeanette's too?) photography of this wonderful and enchanted land! It is so beautiful there! The brookies have to be taking on their "Autumn Splendor" amidst all this color! The ones that come to hand during this time seem to be more special and more spectacular! This is also my favorite time of year!

Doug we took many photos and I'll do a post as Jeanette saw it. Autumn is the brook trout's season. They compete with the foliage, and the two of them always wind up in a no decision.
