A Christmas Gift To........

In the spirit of giving at Christmas I would like to offer the readers of Small Stream Reflections a chance to receive a couple of gifts as a thank you for following SSR's. All that is required is for you to comment here. Your name will be put into a box and Jeanette will draw the winners names. The drawing will be on Saturday morning at 9am. I will post the winners on Saturday.

"Badger" the winners name will be added to the streamer. Example, "Joe's Badger"..... This Rangeley Streamer tied by me features a beautiful Badger/Furnace wing feather.

29 flies tied by me featuring soft hackles, spiders, and flymphs. These flies come in a 2 sided waterproof fly box.

Merry Christmas

  1. Merry Christmas Alan and Jeanette,
That "Badger" is a lovely looking fly that any self respecting trout would have to have a go at! The selection of boxed flies also look mighty fine.
    Kindest Regards,
    Steve, Badger Creek, Victoria, Australia.

I fished the Badger Creek that runs at the bottom of my garden yesterday evening and caught a very fat wild brown trout on a bead head Hares Ear Nymph. I'd say his rotundity could be the result of eating all the bugs and worms that have been washed into the creek after all the rain we've had in the last two weeks.
    Cheers,
    Steve.

  3. Merry Christmas. Found the same silk source for the Blue color. I learned that flue eggs is the color for steelhead on sunny days. Wonder if blue SH will do the same for trout.

  44. In this era of grip & grin, remote destinations and big articulated flies it is refreshing to see accessible fly fishing portrayed using simple equipment and small flies for beautiful small wild fish. I try to steer beginning fly fishers to this site and it's message of simplicity and beauty. Bravo!
