I know I have a great deal to be thankful for, and I'm certain you wonderful people do to. Just taking a few minutes to say Happy Thanksgiving and to tell you how much I enjoy my blog family. You are the greatest. So enjoy your day tomorrow, feast and be happy.
Atta boy Alan! Wouldn't it be nice, if Macy's had a giant Helium balloon, in the form of a Brookie, for the parade? Who knows, the pilgrims might have served Brook trout as an appetiezer, at the first Thanksgiving. They would have surely been available in the MA colony. Sounds very plausible to me.

John that would be an awesome balloon. Brook trout were plentiful back then and I'm certain they were feasted upon along with deer, cod and those beloved clams.
Alan,
ReplyDeleteWe should be thanking you for the wonderful blog you post so often! THANK YOU ALAN! This time of year is chalked full of so many blessings including this site! It is our morning coffee, our delicious breakfast or lunch or supper, and our window into that wonderful world you call home, the Connecticut country side! God Bless the Brook Trout Forrest and its many beautiful surroundings!
John, I couldn't agree with you more about the Brook Trout Balloon! Excellent idea! Who do we contact?

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and visit often.
I agree, Alan. We are all thankful that you have the passion and dedication to keep us supplied with beautiful photos and fetchingly told descriptions of your adventures in the outdoors. And, on top of that, you occasionally tempt us with a good old fashioned bit of cookery. Yup, we are the ones to be thanking you.

Bill it's a cold morning here in CT. 11 degrees on the deck. But comments as such make it feel so much warmer.
Have a great Thanksgiving.

Alistair I think turkey is a favorite of folks in Britain.
Have a sparkling day.
A Norfolk Bronze turkey is a seasonal favourite in our household (although I do still like the traditional goose)

Sam the best to you and your family on this Thanksgiving. How about those Red Sox, now there is something to be thankful. Eat well today, and stay warm.
Alan, the 2018 Red Sox are one of my favorite sports teams of all time right along with the Big Red Machine from my Ohio youth, Ohio State Buckeyes who I root for, especially against "that team up north" as Woody called them. The 2018 Red Sox was a team of great team players who did what it took to win. Loved the whole season.
DeleteHappy Thanksgiving to you and all your family, Alan. Others have already written to thank you for creating the Small Stream Reflections family. I add my thanks as well.
ReplyDeleteTomorrow, I'll open the box of "Jim Dandy" grits that my neighbour gave me yesterday. Bacon, eggs, grits and crusty sourdough toast for breakfast. It may not be turkey but it will be my "Thanksgiving" meal. Life, with all it's ups and downs is still good.
Kindest Regards,
Steve.
