The Tryout

Well the other morning I took my streamer cross The Mickey Pinn to the stream to give it its maiden tryout. I wish I could say that it put in a stellar performance and brought many trout to hand. That was not the case. While it did manage to bring several hard hits, I only managed a single brown to hand. I have not given up on the Mickey Pinn just yet. I will modify it a bit and give it another workout.

The outing was a success in many ways though. I managed to have the chance to play hide and seek with this whitetail. It tried several times to cross the stream. It walked into the water, saw me and then retreated back into the high grass. This happened several times. Finally it realized I was not a threat and crossed the stream.

Wild flowers. A field full, all the same. This one with water droplets on its petals. Life is good.

So with the streamer in the box, I reached for my friend The Bomber. I tied it on and sent it off to search. Within minutes a brookie was at hand.

A beautiful Connecticut freestone stream.

And one of its jewels.

A "Bomber" brookie.
