Decals, Flies and

This is a decal that was given to me by Kirk. It's quite nice, and a bit different.
It's a brook trout but it's made of various trout flies, there's even a "Bomber" in there.

These are some beautiful trout flies. I don't remember where I got them, it was either a tag sale or on ebay. They are made in England and are very delicate. The flies are named in the box but I don't know if they had been moved around before.
Perhaps Rod over at "Dry Fly Expert" might have some knowledge of these flies.

This is one of the flies from the box.

This is a streamer from Harry Murray, "Mr. Rapidan Streamer". It's a simple design but has all the qualities of a fish catcher.

Yesterday was Valentines Day. Jeanette and I stayed home exchanged cards and enjoyed a few favorites.

Well my second cup of Nantucket kicked in and I'm awake now. In a few hours the brook trout in a small stream will be awake and I'm going to pay them a visit.

All of you have a fine day, and thanks for the visit.

Absolute perfection when it comes to pattern tying. You can look at those flies and know they were tied by someone who love the sport. The flies displayed in the trout is outstanding---and last the dishes are worth the calories intake---as usual great post!!

  11. My stepfather gave me a smal box of caddis dries that he purchsed while in England and they were really quite beautiful , totally different than our standard EHC. Unfortunately they were lost when a flybox jumped out of my vest pocket one day unbeknownst to me.
Somehow your posts always make me hungry , that just had to be good!
Good luck today....looking forwad to the report.

  14. Thanks for noticing.....I am the third guy from the left in the photo... :)

Sox tickets must be lagging because they are advertising all over the place. People are still upset about what happened last year, the over-selling of merchandise (e.g. bricks), ownership's moves (or lack thereof, etc.) but I think all will be forgiven by most when spring training starts.

Sometimes these guys need a wake up call, and what better one empty seats.
I have followed the Sox since 1960 and have never seen B.S. like last years crew.
