Brown Bread, and Browns

Brown bread with raisins. When I was growing up this was a pretty common item. I would enjoy it toasted with butter, and cream cheese. I still enjoy it especially with a good cup of hot Nantucket coffee.

These are a few browns, up close.

  1. Not familiar with the Bread, but, it looks good and with warm butter on it, even better. I am familiar with those Browns. Nice job!

  4. Couple of slices while setting next to that little stream and I'd be a pretty happy camper.

Those Brook trout have some of the most vivid colors I have ever seen--truly outstanding. The Brown Bread looks tasteful, getting that time of year to start the sweets. Thanks for sharing

  8. Hi Alan!

Lovely brown trout! What did they take on? Couldn't identify the flies. I wouldn't mind trying out the bread with Zoegas Mollbergs Blandning (one of my favourite blends of coffee).

    Friendly greetings,
    Mats Olsson

The fly was a brown soft hackle, real generic.
Mats is that coffee real bold.

  10. Brk trt,
Brown bread!! It reminds me of much simpler days of growing up as a kid. EVERY saturday, my mother would start in the morning & bake beans & brown bread. Nothing like a cool autumn day, with the sent of fresh baking beans in a oven going thru the house along with brown bread. Franks and beans, w/brown bread. A tradional saturday evening legacy of the past.

Oh! By the way, nice photos of those fish as well..............Phil
