Venison Lasagna....plus

Venison Lasagna
With the new season upon us It was time to use up the last of last years deer. The packages left are mostly meat used for making burger which I used for this dish. Venison lasagna is one of the best ways to use up that deer burger and one of the most delicious. The sauce is basically a meat sauce that you would normally use for lasagna only using deer instead of ground beef. Then it's assembled and baked until crisp and bubbly.

I made this over sized pan on Friday and we will enjoy many meals throughout the week. Once cooked it can be portioned and frozen and defrosted to reheat. I think we are successful in harvesting a deer this season I may offer this dish at our annual New Years day fishing outing.

It's better reheated two days later........trust me.

Blueberry pie from Lymans Orchard in Middlefield CT. This is tops. They actually put blueberries in the filling and not all corn starch. The crust is wonderful.

This is a stream I used to fish years ago. We paid a visit to it yesterday and noticed the land has been posted. The slack still pool in the picture was full of wild brookies.

  4. The photos make me hungry, and I wonder if permission to fly cast that pool might be given (?).

Outstanding looking dish--it is a shame that stream can't be fished anymore, it looks like it would yield some nice rod benders. Thanks for sharing
