Land of Little Rivers

The Land of Little Rivers, by, Austin McK. Francis is one of the finest books I have ever read. It's detailed history and photographs of the Catskill region are spectacular.

It covers the rivers, the people, the beautiful dry flies and the tyers who created them. It has a section on the bamboo rods of the era, as well as their makers. If you have the opportunity to read this book please do so, you won't be disapointed.

  1. This is great work here and I appreciate your ability to stay consistent and up to date with your passion of journals in fishing small streams. It brings me back to my childhood at age 13, picking out my first flyrod and learning how to catch trout at stow brook in the early 1970's

  2. Francis wrote another book in the early 1980's called "Catskill Rivers". It's a history of the Catskill region centered on it's fly fishing. Also a great book.
