Well plans have been completed to spend some time on Cape Cod. An opportunity to do some hiking and fishing. There are a few streams I enjoy, one of them or perhaps both will give up one of its "Salters", a sea run brook trout.
The changing of the shoes....a new pair of hiking/walking/waders. LL Beans, Trail Model Hikers. Super Quality, Beans guarantee, and only 59.00.
I made a New England favorite, Chicken Pot Pie. Some warm comfort for these autumn nights.
Lots of chicken, vegetables, and a puff pastry crust to soak up that gravy.
Nice shoe's i hope they serve you well and as far as that chicken pot pie there is a problem. My fork won't go through my lap top screen for some reason.
ReplyDeleteBrk Trt,
ReplyDeleteI bet those old shoes have a story or two to tell, with may be a few more then you can recall?
Hopefully you said a somber good-by to those pair of stream side companions.
The new pair look comfortable, and may add fresh spring in your step.
As for the Chicken pie, I'll sum it up with one word. "Delicious" That word and the looks of that pie, enough said....DRYFLYGUY
This post just oozes autumn...and I love it! There is just something about the changing of gear...from old to new...a sense of accomplishment in the evidence that one has walked, fished, and adventured, hard.
ReplyDeleteVery nice, I hope we get to see a pic or two of some "salters". That chicken pot pie looks like it would hit the spot after a cold day outside.
ReplyDeleteI don't suppose you'd share the recipe for that pot pie...mmmmm
ReplyDeleteI'm with deadbait. How about it?
ReplyDeleteMark
Dinner looks good.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see you post a pic of a "salter"
Your killing me with the pot pie - a real favorite in this house
ReplyDeleteRick Kratzke,
ReplyDeleteThanks.
I'm sure the shoes will hold up fine. I wish I could send you some pie.
DRYFLYGUY,
Thanks.
It's hard to throw them out, I'll keep them as a spare, that is until the Mrs. says...OUT.
e.m.b.,
Thanks.
Those shoes certainly have done all three...and loved every minute of it.
Bill,
ReplyDeleteThanks.
If I am fortunate to bring one to hand. The pie go's well with cool, crisp days.
deadbait,
Thanks.
I do have the recipe, and will post it later.
Shoreman,
Thanks.
Very soon.
G Lech,
ReplyDeleteThanks.
I hope I can accommodate you on a photo.
Mark,
Thanks.
Maybe we could do a fly, pot pie swap?
Hey B.T., Great post!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to have you down to the house, we close on Weds.
I have a sea run brown trout stream walking distance from the house that we need to explore.
Just bring some chicken pot pie. :)
A.T.
Dang! That chicken pot pie looks amazing.
ReplyDeleteApache Trout,
ReplyDeleteThanks.
Congrats on your new home. Sea run browns, sounds good. The pie, no problem.
Kev23890,
Thanks.
Real comfort that pie.
It's about lunch time out here in the west, and the pot pie looks like the ticket...
ReplyDeleteGood luck finding a sea run...look forward to hearing about it.
Gotta love the way LL Bean stands behind or in this case. stands in, our purchases.
ReplyDeleteTop pic is great. Those shoes look like they are comfortable. Retirement for the other shoes :) Now back to drooling, yuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! Still Drooling :P Tight Lines.
ReplyDeleteSanders,

The pie is on its way. We did find the salters, but they weren't hungry.
