Yesterday was one of those nice winter days to be outdoors. The sun was bright, the air crisp, and no wind. It might have been a day to drift a fly, and even take a trout.
On this day we decided to walk some familiar places, take a few photos and see how beautiful a New England day in January is.
The first photo is Niantic bay, right on the Connecticut coast. Although the sun was shining bright a few miles inland, the skies over the bay were threatening.
Connecticut state land, lots of places to walk. The snow was fresh, with no footprints.
Winter waters, the photo says it all.
This brown appears to be swimming in ice. It just looks winter cold.
A sure thing to bring life to a cold body. Hot chocolate.
Nice photos. Looks inviting to have a hot chocolate after a stroll in the winter.ReplyDelete
Have fun walking and taking photos,
Nice pics, the solitude of winter captured. I don't remember the last time I had made homemade hot chocolate.ReplyDelete
It was a beautiful day while the sun stayed out...might be a few more like it this week...ReplyDelete
Love the B&W. Homemade hot chocolateReplyDelete
You sure know how to live!
Great photos. The BW does make it look ICE COLD. Thanks for sharing.ReplyDelete
How did you manage to fish without icing up your line and leader?ReplyDelete
The Jassid Man,ReplyDelete
At certain times hot chocolate really hits the spot.
Winter can be brutal at times, but its beauty is hard to beat.
Yes, from the weather channel mid week looks good.
That B&W was chilling. The chocolate tasty.
That pic sure did highlight cold.
It's not hard. My wife says to eliminate the ice, keep the line out of the water.
I know those signs, I have one myself after it had fallen when the tree was nocked down. I went out myself yesterday and it was very pleasant to drive around and see the deer trails that were crossing a favorite dirt road of mine.ReplyDelete
And add a shot of Kahlua to that hot chocolate for an extra treat.
What no N-E-S-T-L-E-S? Can't blame ya'!ReplyDelete
Yesterday was a great day to be out.
Kahlua would make it special.
Swiss Miss aint bad in a pinch.
Nice place to take a little stroll. We had a dusting yesterday ourselves. Beautiful country.ReplyDelete
Wonderful Photos. I must make it out that way some day to do some fishing and perhaps some hot chocolate too :) I am glad to see that the colder weather doesn't stop you from getting out there and chasing some trout. Thanks for sharing. Tight Line.sReplyDelete
Those photos make winter look almost inviting , beautiful shots. Nothing warms the soul like a cup of homemade hot chocolate on a cold day...good stuff.ReplyDelete
If you do I'll show you some fine wild brook trout streams, and hot chocolate too.
Hot chocolate eliminates many cares.
The Sound is a beautiful place in the winter, but it can be very unforgiving. Those willing to venture out can harvest clams, winter flounder, herring, and a bunch of ducks and geese. I love the photo of the bay. Thumbs up on the pocket rocket!ReplyDelete
One of my favorite type of fishing was winter flounder fishing. Mid March, Jordan Cove, some sandworms, and my Mitchell 300. Good times.
The rocket is a hot stove.
