A Few Walks

The CT. section of the AT
Over the last two weeks Jeanette and I have done a bit of walking. The trails selected took us to some special parts of Connecticut and western Massachusetts. The days that we hiked were perfect weather days, an option you have when your retired. So join us and with the great last day of August weather we may be leaving once again.

What a view. We met some through hikers on the AT, some from Georgia and some from Oklahoma

This fellow had a productive day in the woods.

Not very friendly, but pretty.

A mountain meadow. Peace and solitude.

Some natural sweets

Carved out of an old tree stump....mountain ingenuity.

  3. Nice pics Alan. Seems like Fall has arrived early this year. I've tried to eat "hen of the woods" mushrooms a couple of times but they're just not to my taste. No arguing with taste though. Like my fondness for "scrapple". Not shared by all.

John it sure felt like it this morning. Scrapple I only had it once, Park's made it. It must not have been to good for I never tried it again.

I'll be waiting for some beautiful foliage images from you in the coming months. Some scenic areas you and Jeanette came in contact with; that wooden chair is amazing could you tell what kind of wood it was carved from? Thanks for sharing

Bill there are a few early changes taking place now. It maybe an early fall.
I don't know what type of tree it was carved from, but there are a lot of pines in that area.
