"It's In Our Soul"

I am not going to spend to much time in trying to find the right words to try to explain my feelings when it comes to a place like this, or to tell you of the beauty that surrounds this place all year, but this time of year has to be it's finest. Brook Trout Forest is more then a place, it's a way of life that incorporates us into the natural world. It's in our soul.

  1. Our fish are all beautiful in their way but we have nothing that quite matches your brookies. The stocked still water brook trout I used to catch were a lot greener.

At this time of year they are spectacular. We have color variations of brook trout here. A great deal of that is the result of the habitat they live in. I've caught brookies that were almost black.

  2. Alan,
Your posts are so beautiful. Perhaps because our fishing is so different in NM.

Bill you have mountains in NM, I've seen photos of some beautiful streams, and brown trout along with cutthroats that come from them. I have a favorite book that has been with me for about 15 years. I pick it up and read it from time to time. A great deal of inspiration comes from within it's pages...."Holy Ghost Creek"

Steve I chose those words for my sub-title at the start of my blogging. I believe in those words and that is why I still blog> I love sharing my adventures and thoughts with all of you. If that puts a smile on your face and warms your heart then I have succeeded.

Doug the foliage and the brookie are in a fierce battle for who is the most colorful. I make it a tie.
