Along The Banks

A part of the wonders of small stream fishing is taking in all that surrounds you. The land in spring is really transforming and the beauty and wonder is all around. Here are some of my observations from a recent sunny day.

  1. Last week I saw the first flowers while out fishing. Yesterday we got 6" + of snow.

David, I hope that's your first name.
It's a happening of spring, snow that is. Now if it warms a bit the flowers will do fine.

Mark it was quite nice out there. Today we have heavy rain and winds at 40 with 60mph gusts..spring in New England.

Bill spring is beautiful, sometimes it can be very erratic and severe. I hope you are OK...

  6. Our world here has got rather small and strange and think will be so for a while to come. That first out of lockdown cast be it into stil or running water if it's after our magical June the 16th will be the sweetest thing.

It's gotten quite small here also. We are at least able to get out as long as we keep our distance. On small streams that's not an issue.
June 16th, that's a long way off.. perhaps a better turn will come sooner.

  8. Very nice, Spring is springing and so happy you're able to get out and experience it. It's some escape for those of us cooped up and not able to access their favorite trout water right now.

Mike it has to be tough to be forced to stay indoors at anytime, but when spring is here and fishing seasons have opened just adds to the pain. Hopefully things will modify.

  9. Thus is the miracle of Spring and the mighty miracles of our Creator! Alan, you have done well to chronicle these events and we enjoy them very much! Grass mowing has begun in earnest! Yikes!
