Anglers, Artists and Lovers of the Outdoors Part two

Mike S. fishing the Farmington River. He has a nice wild brookie. Mike and I have fished many times both in the Farmington and on some small streams.

Mike S is also a very accomplished rod maker and restorer. Here is one of his works. A bamboo rod a 6' 3wt.

Here's Matt S and his little girl. Matt is the son of a long time friend and fishing buddy Pete S. Pete has passed and deeply missed.

Shawn F...his photo of a small stream wild brookie.

Look, Alistair's version of a soft hackle streamer.

Matt Harding who hails from the pacific northwest. His patterns also work well with brookies.

Dean F at the desk with grand-daughter. Learning and teaching are so much enjoyment.

Grandfathers pride...a great job little one.

  2. Great photos! It was nice to see a photo of a wild brookie on a day when I could not find one in the wild (although I only had a brief chance to try).

Shawn it was windy yesterday. We were out scouting a couple of state forests and it was tough. I can't imagine how it was to fish.

  3. Mike Stephens has some accolades for his work at the Classic Rod Forum. Great “family album” pictures and ties, DeanF’s grandaughter may have her own blog someday!

Kevin I have seen and cast a few of Mikes builds and restorations. Covid along with other issues has kept fishing together to a no. Hopefully that will change. She sure looks enthusiastic.

  4. Never too soon to get the little ones acclimated to the creeks. They are the future of fishing.

Emily they work well and are easy to tie. When wet and moved through the stream they look just like a sculpin.

Again, I am loving this type of thread where you showcase your many friends thru photos! It is so good to put faces to the names of the folks we have become familiar with thru your blog!
Great job Alan and all who are shown and showcased! Please make this a regular feature here on SSR's!

  12. Mike S's bamboo rod pictured above is a delicious looking work of art! Again, I am really liking this "format" as it were where you feature different folks...even the littlest of Small Stream Anglers! Such a cutie!
