A Small Stream 6-2-11

A wonderful few hours this day on a small stream. Although it was a bit windy, and the sun was bright, I was able to bring a few to hand.

Spring color

Riffle to pool. Classic small stream.

An old fish camp?

Wild brook and brown trout from the same stream.

They look almost like popcorn.

That part of this stream is beautiful. Don't know why I don't fish it more.

  9. Savage,
Thanks. The fly is a simple pattern, but it can be effective at times.

  10. What I like is that not only do you show pics of beautiful fish but also the environment that makes trout fishing so enjoyable. Great eye for the picturesque.

  12. I like the brookie picture! Like Mark, I was wondering what kind of fly that was.

  13. Joel,
Thanks. I agree, there is so much wonder that surrounds a trout stream.

    Mark,
Thanks. It's a pattern I put together. After reading many of Midge Mans posts on aquatic worms, I tied up that one pictured, and they really went for it.

Thanks. I posted the idea of the worm pattern above. I'll do a post on the fly soon.

  18. Since I became a "Small Stream Reflection" fan,
It was clear to see that catching trout was all part of the plan,
And that Brk Trt man brings 'em to hand!
