Solitude is what I seek out as I fish the wild trout streams. It's not that I'm antisocial or selfish, it's because I enjoy being one on one with all that I encounter in the forests and waters.
The pure beauty of being alone, the deafening quiet, that a birds chirp is heard, the fresh smell of the earth, and the sounds of the stream.
I'm with you on the solitude. Just you and the stream and nothing else matters. Great pictures.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't have said it better myself. I plan on getting as much as I can when I head up to the Adirondacks this weekend for some small stream brookies.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how you miss so much around you when you're sharing an outdoor experience.
ReplyDeleteFly fishing makes a bad team sport.
ReplyDeleteHey Alan...How deep is the water that the fish in?

About 2 or so inches.
Love the photos and sentiment. Enjoyed a similar experience recently on the Hoback in Jackson Hole, WY, albeit slightly larger water. Nice Brookie for small water.
ReplyDeleteSolitude is a hard thing to come by these days...and there is no better place to find it than on a trout stream.
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Great Post. I enjoy the time spent alone on the stream too. As great as it is to spend time with fellow fisherman on the stream, nothing beats the solitude you are talking about. It almost seems sometimes like your the only one left in the world when you are out there being one with nature. Great Pics. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteGary Thompson,
ReplyDeleteThanks.
That brookie photo came out well.
Sanders,
Thanks.
Solitude is worth seeking.
Trout Magee,
Thanks.
You summed it up very well.
You hit the nail on the head Brk Trt. It's the connection we have with nature that too many people in today's society fail to recognize and embrace. But I guess that's a good thing for those of us who do?
