"Parker"
For the last five days Jeanette and I have had the pleasure of watching our grand dog "Parker". He has been a sheer joy. His first years of life were not very happy, he was found tied on a 3 foot rope in a hot parking garage. He was rescued and adopted by my daughter and family.
He's now in good shape but at times under certain circumstances there are flashbacks to those unpleasant times.
I tied this streamer a in his name.
Hook, Mustad 94720-- Body, Flat Silver Tinsel-- Belly, White Bucktail-- Throat, Yellow Hackle-- Underwing, Red and Blue Bucktail-- Wing, Black Saddle Hackle-- Cheek, Jungle Cock.

I use a coat of Sally Hansen hard as nails, then several coats of "Cellire", it's a English product.
Those rescue dogs are the best friends you could ask for , they just seem to know that you did them a favor and spend their lives trying to repay you.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fly!

You phrased it well friend.
Alan, you've got the heart of a romance writer, whatever that means. Not that I don't enjoy your narrative, but your photos always grab me and reel me in. Oh, one more word. My family takes in homeless animals; dogs, cats, snakes and other assorted creatures...hold on a sec. Our two month old Plottshound just showed his appreciation all over my den.

I'm not sure what that means myself, but I like it.
Love the appreciation, they all attend the same university.
Very nice Alan. My wife and I are on are 3rd & 4th rescue dogs, the current 2 are Labs. So many dogs available for adoption, I am amazed that people pay for animals. We have been very lucky with our dogs, sadly, the first 2 passed due to cancer, after many joyful years with us.

Kirk, if you look at those tail hairs, nice black nosed dace.
Brk Trt,
ReplyDeletenice looking Lab & I'm happy he found a loving family that appreciates & loves him as much as your entire family does.
As for your past post. The Wulff fly that I believe your refurring to is the Parmachene Wulff. The Kennebago Wulff looks a lot like the Adams & Grey Wulff as well as others, though slightly different which could be the reason it works when others don't. Here are some links for both.

Kudo's to your daughter and her family for rescuing Parker. I like cool names for animals and Parker fits the pup to a T.

It was the right thing to do.
My grand daughter gave him that name.
I think you did Parker proud with that one.
