The streams are chugging along, the rains have been ample at least where I'm dropping flies.
A natural detour for this angler. I don't mind climbing out and finding another place to fish.
It's ant season. One outing that was the only fly needed.
Familiar places, they always seem to give up a fish.
Wonderful days are ahead...
Some really nice Brookies.

Bill there's so much out there. I have hundreds of stunning photos of all that surrounds the actual fishing.
Wow Alan.....
ReplyDeleteThose are some really nice Ladies Slipper Orchids (Cypripedium reginae), I imagine they add a nice touch of colour to all that verdant green along the banks of the streams.
That 1st brookie in particular looks like a really nice fish, I am sure he will have the pick of the hens in the autumn!.

Alistair the Lady Slippers are very pretty but are with us for a short time.
That buck was a strong one, I hope he'll pass his genes along.
Very nice flies, fish and flowers.... looks like a beautiful stream...

ReplyDeleteAmazing beauty found on those steams in the form of the brook trout and wild flowers. I see the Nemesis was at work. Thanks for sharing

Pete the brookies were not missing many meals that's for sure. Took a ride along the Farmington yesterday, no fishing just looking and enjoying. River was in great shape.
There is nothing more beautiful than a healthy trout stream.

Howard no argument on that from me.
Alan,
ReplyDeleteDrop dead gorgeous surroundings and brookies too! The combination of woods and waters is so beautiful and not to be found anywhere else....that I know of! Of course, we live in a huge country and there is more than likely such spots (thin blue lines no doubt) as these. Bill is right! You have an immense talent for photography and fly tying. The fishing I am going to have to see for myself when ever you and I hook up! How's that for a self invitation? I would truly love to make the trip someday to take in all the beauty and maybe catch a brookie!
Anxious D.

Doug there are many places in this great land that offer what I have featured in this blog...but what I show is that wild trout, clean cold free flowing waters, and solitude can be enjoyed less than 20 minutes from my home...that's a treasure.
I'm saving you a spot.
Alan,
DeleteAwesome invitation indeed! Thank you for that! It may be a while before I can buzz up to your beautiful state but, I am so grateful for the offer though! Meanwhile, I will enjoy your blog like no other!
Doug
Beautiful pictures, Alan. That first brookie is a good sized one for a small stream.

Sam I'm seeing more of these larger brookies lately, seeing not always catching though. Good signs for sure.
Peace of mind with those pictures. Quite beautiful. I love the greens on the woodland floor. Regards, John

John peace of mind, so much a part of simple stream fishing....aggravation, and agitation not allowed here.
Beautiful brook trout and scenery, Alan. I have seen a good number of lady slippers this year too, in places I don't recall seeing them in year's past. Maybe I just didn't notice them. That one brookie is a real chunk.
