Well, I'd argue it has gotten the job done. You enjoyed tying up an artful fly. You will enjoy swinging it through the currents. That's a lot of memories made, life processed, and experiences enjoyed... and you havent even gotten past that fun "what if" that fishing brings all of us.
Hibernation Thanks Well said Will. I had an encounter with a large brown and hopefully this will be what's necessary to catch him. There are 2 other flies that I tied which will also be tried.
This one just looks dangerous; hang this on the end of your line and put the hammer down. If this fly were a car it would have been the one James Dean was driving. Beautiful work, Alan!
Alan, that one looks deadly. Finally threw-down for some decent "affordable" jungle cock. Now I'll have to tie up some of those. Cheers. I'd say "good luck" but wager you won't need it.
Matthew Harding Thanks Matt JC is a feather that will increase your odds when fishing a streamer. Bucktails and hairwing streamers can do ok without it but a featherwing JC is a must. You can find some decent deals on ebay for JC.
beautiful streamer Alan, good combination of colors, with what purpose you tie these streamers, what use do you give them since you do not use them to fish, right?
Armando Milosevic Thanks Armando I'm going to fish this streamer in hopes of catching a very nice brown trout that I had dealings with a few weeks ago.

Still think they should be mounted instead of dipped in the water.

Mark I'm hoping this fly will be well chewed and the chewer will be at hand.

Appreciated.
Beautiful streamer, Alan. I think you have a specific mission for that fly. Perhaps a big brown you have spotted?

Sam you nailed it. I tied three of them and hopefully one will coax that brown.
I like your chances, Alan, and look forward to your report on that big brown!
ReplyDeleteSam I hope I can deliver.
